"I found Dave on the Internet when I was looking for someone to rebuild my mid-70’s Merc 65 that had a blown piston. He recommended I shouldn’t fix the 65 as the 3 cylinder configuration of that era was prone to this type of breakage. His view was consistent with what I was reading on the Internet. This and a few emails back and forth convinced me he knew what he was doing. Instead of fixing the 65, he suggested I replace the 65 head with a 4 cylinder 50 HP head. After being re-bored, it would be just as fast as the 65. He wasn’t lying. I can get to 35 mph with my little 50 and it runs great!"

"This is the best running engine that I have ever used in motors this size. When you consider the vintage of a Merc 500 it is amazing that it runs like a new engine. I would recommend Dave Scott as an excellent choice for outboard motor work whether you are a serious racer or a weekend fisherman. !"
